Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Timber Frame Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of traditional and modern timber framing techniques and the skills necessary to execute precise, high-quality work. This role involves working on luxury homes and estates, ensuring every beam, joint, and structure reflects our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
Timber Frame Construction: Accurately cut, shape, and assemble timber frame components using traditional joinery techniques (e.g., mortise and tenon).
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and project plans to ensure precise execution.
Material Preparation: Select, measure, and prepare timbers to meet project specifications.
Assembly and Installation: Collaborate with the team to raise and install timber frames on-site, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.
Problem-Solving: Identify and address challenges in fabrication or assembly to maintain project timelines and quality.
Tool Use: Safely operate hand and power tools, including chisels, mallets, saws, and drills, while adhering to safety protocols.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and fellow team members to achieve project goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in timber framing, including knowledge of traditional joinery techniques.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong woodworking skills and familiarity with woodworking tools and equipment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions, including lifting heavy materials.
Knowledge of construction safety protocols and best practices.
A passion for craftsmanship and building structures that stand the test of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on high-end or luxury residential projects.
Familiarity with CAD software or experience interpreting CAD-generated plans.
Background in sustainable building practices or traditional timber harvesting methods.
Benefits:
Mileage reimbursement: $0.70 per mile, to and from the job site as long as you work an 8 hour day
